Visual Arts Master classes with Industry Professionals

On Thursday 14th March, Year 9 students in the Visual Arts department were treated to an enriching Masterclass Day. Among the distinguished guests were Amelia B Kyazze, a renowned war zone photographer hailing from New York; Jamie Greenly, an acclaimed artist who has transitioned into the realm of sustainable fashion design; and Tara Hughes, a celebrated graphic designer residing and practising her craft in Lewisham.

Amelia B Kyazze captivated the audience with gripping accounts of her experiences documenting conflicts around the globe. Her vivid narratives not only shed light on the harsh realities of war but also underscored the power of visual storytelling in fostering empathy and understanding.

Jamie Greenly took the stage to share her journey from the canvas to the fashion runway. With a focus on sustainability and ethical practices, Greenly elucidated how artistry could be seamlessly integrated into the world of fashion to advocate for environmental consciousness and social responsibility.

Drawing from her extensive portfolio, Tara Hughes offered invaluable insights into the dynamic and ever-evolving field of graphic design. From branding strategies to digital illustration techniques, her expertise provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
