Welcome to Bonus Pastor Catholic College Library
The Library is open to all students to carry out research, complete homework or read.
It’s for our students to use and enjoy.

Our aim is for students to become independent readers and we are continually looking at ways to encourage reading for pleasure. A KS3 and KS4 ‘Recommended Reads’ booklet is always available to give students inspiration on what to read next. Please see the ‘downloads’ section below for our recommended reading lists.
All our KS3 students are timetabled into the Library; it is an opportunity for quiet reading and to change and talk about their books. Students can participate in reading challenges; we have been supporting the Lewisham Book Award a reading challenge aimed at our Year 7 and 8 students and more recently we have begun a KS4 reading challenge. Students in Year 7 and 8 can also work towards reading certificates for finishing books. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum certificates are awarded according to the number of books our students read.
We also have a very well stock Stationery shop where students can buy basic equipment. The current price list can be found in the ‘downloads’ section below.
Our new Library Management system, Accessit, will be available in school or from home in the new academic year. Students and staff can search for books and online resources, write a review and even check when books are due back.
Information and resources are available for everyone including:
- Laptop and desktop computers linked to our network with access to many software packages and the Internet.
- A well-stocked library with over 6000 fiction, non-fiction titles and reference books.
- Daily newspapers and magazines.
- A Stationery Shop where students can buy basic equipment at very competitive prices. See our current pricelist in the documents section.
