Library

Welcome to Bonus Pastor Catholic College Library

The Library is open to all students to carry out research, complete homework or read.
It’s for our students to use and enjoy.

Our aim is for students to become independent readers and we are continually looking at ways to encourage our students to read for pleasure.  Our Library offers a wide range of books covering all genres that students can borrow.  Please see the ‘downloads’ section for recommended reading lists.

All our Year 7, 8 aSORA Logond 9 students are timetabled into the Library once a fortnight; it is an opportunity for students to read and discuss books as well as borrow and change books.  Students can participate in reading challenges; we have been supporting the Lewisham Book Award a reading challenge aimed at our Year 7 and 8 students and we also promote reading challenges for all year groups where students can receive house points for reading and reviewing their books.

We celebrate World Book Day every year which includes a quiz for all Year 7 and 8 students to participate in with Year 7 having the opportunity to come into school dressed as a book character usually on World Book Day itself.

Our Library system, ACCESSIT, can be opened in school as well as from home and can be found in the students’ Google apps on their chrome books.  Our students can search for books available in our library and reserve books to borrow.  Students are also able to borrow e-books and audio books from SORA, our online digital library that is also located in students’ Google apps.

We have a very well stocked Stationery shop where students can buy basic equipment and stationery bundles. Both price lists can be found in the ‘downloads’ section.
