September

In September we always pay special attention to our new Year 7s.

Every year we slightly stagger the start of term in September, with different year groups starting at different times, in order to allow us time to have a full induction day with Year 7s, to ensure they feel welcome and get to know our school.

Year 7s will be required in school on Friday 2nd September from 8:20 am to 12:35 pm in our Churchdown Site.

They will need to wear full school uniform and bring all of their equipment. They will NOT need their PE Kit.

On their first day, we will have an opening House induction assembly where your child will receive their prestigious house tie. Your child will also be given ample time to get used to their new school with longer lunch breaks and class buddies to show them around.

Monday 5th September will be a normal school day with Years 8, 9 and 10 in as well and pupils will be following their new timetables.

Please watch our welcome video below that will introduce you to some key people!

Why not get ahead and explore our school virtually via our video tour below!

We do have 2 buildings that students need to move between, and this can be scary at first! However it's nothing to worry about, and see our short video below which walks you through the route!

There is also an additional photo guide which could be downloaded and printed out to work with your child if you find that helpful.

Paying for Meals

Our canteen operates a "cash less" system meaning that no money is brought into school.

On the first day in September a digital scan of your child's thumb print will be taken and linked with your account. You can then top up your child's account online with money to allow them to purchase their lunch.

*Prices subject to change closer to the start of the new academic year

Free School Meals

Free School Meals:

If your child is currently eligible for free school meals, please can we ask that you re-apply with Lewisham in preparation for their transition with us.

If you haven't previously been eligible, but your circumstances and family finances have recently changed, we would strongly encourage you to apply to see if you are eligible. It is free and takes 5 - 10 minutes online to complete, and could result in your child not only being eligible for free school meals, but also extra subsidies towards trips, music lessons and other activities within school.  Please see the link below or downloadable document for more information.
