September:

In September we always pay special attention to our new Year 7s, and more so this year than ever before.

Every year we slightly stagger the start of term in September, with different year groups starting at different times, in order to allow us time to have a full induction day with Year 7s, to ensure they feel welcome and get to know our school.

Year 7s will be required in school on Friday 3rd September from 8:20am to 12:35pm in our Churchdown Site.

They will need to wear full school uniform and bring all of their equipment.     They will NOT need their PE Kit.

On their first day we will have an opening House induction assembly where your child will receive their prestigious house tie. Your child will also be given ample time to get used to their new school with longer lunch breaks and class buddies to show them around.

Monday 6th September will be a normal school day with Years 8, 9 and 10 in as well and pupils will be following their new timetables.

Why not get ahead and explore our school virtually via our video tour below!

We do have 2 buildings that students need to move between, and this can be scary at first! However it's nothing to worry about, and see our short video below which walks you through the route!

There is also an additional photo guide which could be downloaded and printed out to work with your child if you find that helpful.

School Uniform

School Uniform:

Please see our expectations and standards regarding uniform in the attached document below.

Uniform Standards and Expectations

Uniform can be purchased from either, Whitehall Clothiers in Lewisham or Wearabouts Clothing in Sydenham. Please check with each store their current COVID19 arrangements. Please also order your uniform as soon as reasonably possible, as due to COVID19 there can be delays in manufacture and shipping and so stock may not always be available for immediate purchase.

PE Kit

PE Kit:

Please note that for PE pupils are required to wear a BP Yellow Polo Shirt (available to purchase from Whitehall Clothiers or Wearabouts Clothing) along with a black pair of shorts, and black socks.

Pupils can also wear a black BP Jumper and plain black tracksuit bottoms if they would like to, but this is optional.

Paying for Meals

Our canteen operates a "cash less" system meaning that no money is brought into school.

On the first day in September a digital scan of your child's thumb print will be taken and linked with your account. You can then top up your child's account online with money to allow them to purchase their lunch.

Please see this year's current Menu for a guide on the food that is available and prices

Free School Meals

Free School Meals:

If your child is currently eligible for free school meals, please can we ask that you re-apply with Lewisham in preparation for their transition with us.

If you haven't previously been eligible, but your circumstances and family finances have recently changed, we would strongly encourage you to apply to see if you are eligible. It is free and takes 5 - 10 minutes online to complete, and could result in your child not only being eligible for free school meals, but also extra subsidies towards trips, music lessons and other activities within school.  Please see the link below or downloadable document for more information.
