Our Student Leadership Team

The Student Leadership Team consists of Year 10 Prefects who exemplify Jesus' model of the Good Shepherd. Students who form the team formally apply and interview before undertaking this responsibility. 

In appointing our Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head girl and Deputy Head Boy we aim to model to students the Catholic Social Teaching principle of ‘Dignity of Work and Participation’ by allowing the student body to elect their student leadership team. 

Once appointed, our prefects are commissioned to begin their role as servant leaders, just like the disciples. This is an opportunity to commit themselves to upholding the Bonus Pastor and Catholic Values as they undertake their responsibilities.  

The student leadership team have an integral role maintaining the high standards of our College and to be role models in their behaviour, uniform, punctuality and attendance.

Our Prefects are expected to

• Promote Gospel values 
• Maintain Discipline
• Help staff
• Support and motive younger students
• Be approachable
• Be involved
• Practice good communications skills

Some of the duties Prefects may undertake are

• Helping at Parents Evenings
• Helping at School Performances
• Fundraising
• Assist with Assemblies and Celebrations of the Word 
• Guiding for Open Evenings
• Supporting to promote student voice

It is part of the philosophy of Bonus Pastor Catholic College, that we expect our Prefects to lead and/or to be involved in activities across the whole school. We expect our Prefects to develop into highly effective leaders, and go on to further develop their skills at 6th Form.
