A group of 10 students in Year 9 and Year 10 are taking part research project on Digital usage and well-being lead by University of Cambridge and Parent Zone.

The project

The University of Cambridge wants to explore how digital parenting relates to family outcomes and wellbeing. The project aims to assess how different components of digital parenting, such as parenting of smartphone use, individually relate to youth mental health and wellbeing.

To achieve this, the team is developing a new questionnaire and assessment scale that will be completed by a national representative sample of parents and carers. To ensure it is relevant we would like to get young people’s perspectives on the design of the survey and analysis of the data collated.

Thank you very much to University of Cambridge and Parent Zone Local for the opportunity to involve our students in this study.

We will share the results of the research with parents and carers when the survey and study is completed.
