Year 8 go into outer spaceBack
More Able pupils from year 8 spent an inspiring afternoon working with space experts from UCL, Earth Sciences Department to explore the outer reaches of our solar system. Pupils using 3D technology explored the other planets in our solar system. They also looked at the wide variety of craters and learned how theses can help scientists date the age of planets. They even had a go at making craters themselves. Pupils really enjoyed the opportunity to examine and touch real meteorites that have traveled all the way from the asteroid belt. By the end of the session, everyone felt inspired and ready to learn more about outer space.
