Very sad news.

Dear Parents & Carers,

I am very sad to have to inform you about the sudden death of one of our ex- students, Victor Kot, who has only just left us in Year 11.  Victor has suffered with a heart condition throughout his life and sadly suffered a cardiac arrest on Tuesday of this week.  Victor was incredibly popular at Bonus Pastor and well known throughout the local community and the Good Shepherd parish.

Tragically this is the second time I have had to write to you this year regarding the death of a student and our support mechanisms and advice continues to be that it is important to give children time to ask questions, and to answer as honestly as you can.  We understand the impact this sad news has on individual students and support is available in school and our Mentors, Year Teams and House Teams will be on hand to support students as and when needed.  The chapel will also be open during specific times to allow time and space for prayer and reflection.

Talking to children about death can be very difficult.  Our pastoral team will be happy to speak to you about any concerns you have and to provide advice.  Parents may also wish to contact St Christopher’s Candle bereavement service on 020 8768 4500 and children can also access emotional support from Kooth (an online counselling service, at Kooth.com) and from Childline (0800 1111).

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time and we will do everything we can to support the family and to celebrate Victor’s life.  In the meantime, the family are making arrangements for Victor’s funeral back in Poland and have set up a GoFundMe home page

https://www.gofundme.com/f/v9q3nr-victors-funeral?pc=fb_dn_postdonate_r for anybody wishing to make donations.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should your child need further support in school.

God bless

Jonathan Ronan
