Year 10 Mock Examinations Week Beginning Monday 16/06/2026

Announcement -  Mar 26

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Year 10 End of Year Mock GCSE Exams will take place throughout the month of June. The assessment window begins on the 16th June and will end on the 1st July 2026.

These examinations are particularly important for Year 10 as the grades and forecasts they achieve from these are what they will use to apply for College, 6th Form or Apprenticeships in September. It is important to note that in order to progress onto Level 3 qualifications student will particularly need to achieve or be forecasted to achieve a Grade 4 or above in English and Maths.

The majority of these assessments will be completed as a year group in the main hall, as we continue our preparation for GCSE examinations. Controlled assessments will take place in their subject classrooms. This is clearly indicated on the timetable.

All revision lists and information can be accessed via the timetable below and students have been provided with revision timetables and will have lessons about revision strategies in CPL:

To support students with planning and revision, a link to an assessment timetable has been included with this letter, and has been uploaded to students google classrooms, the student information centre and the school website.

Sum/Jun - Year 10 Assessment Timetable 2026

Revision Timetable:

Our advice is that students should now be revising for at least 1 hour and 30 minutes a day, on top of / in addition to their homework. The easiest way to plan this out is for students to:

  • Revise the 3 subjects they have had that day, each for 30 minutes and then to revise each subject again at the weekend, for 30 minutes - 1 hour

We strongly recommend having a revision timetable using the template below:

Results:

As Year 10 will already be on Work Experience by the time the papers are marked, we would like to invite you as parents/guardians to attend a special Year 10 Mock Results evening on Wednesday 15th July at 5pm in Winlaton. During this evening you and your child will receive their Mock results along with finding out about key support available to them as we move into Year 11.

As always thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in contact with either myself or Ms Odlum and please continue to keep an eye out for some newsletters between now and the summer from myself offering further information, advice, and guidance.

Yours Faithfully,

Mr N Lawrence - Assistant Principal (NLawrence@bonuspastor.co.uk)

Ms M Odlum - Head of Year (MOdlum@bonuspastor.co.uk)
