Year 9 Science STEM leaders

Our new cohort of Year 9 STEM leaders has hit the ground running, taking their passion for discovery directly into our local community. Recently, our teams visited Twin Oaks Primary in Deptford and Rathfern Primary to lead an afternoon of high-energy science with their Year 4 students.

The mission was simple: show the younger students just how exciting secondary school science can be. Our Year 9s took full command of the "classroom laboratories," mentoring groups of 8–10 children with maturity and confidence. From building mini hovercrafts to the (suitably messy) nappy gel extraction and the crowd-favourite "burp in a pot," the atmosphere was electric.

We are incredibly proud of how our students conducted themselves. They weren’t just teaching experiments; they were acting as brilliant ambassadors for our school, showing immense patience and leadership. The feedback from the staff at both primary schools was glowing—well done to our future scientists!
