Yesterday, a group of our aspiring young computer scientists visited Colfe’s School for a hands-on, high-energy robotics workshop. The event brought together bright minds from our school, Colfe’s, and St Paul’s, fostering a brilliant environment for collaboration and innovation.

Using LEGO Mindstorms, our students dived deep into the world of robotics and logic. The challenge wasn’t just about building; it was about bringing machines to life through precise programming. During the sessions, students mastered:

  • Motor Control: Sequencing movements to navigate complex paths.
  • Distance Sensors: Programming "eyes" to detect obstacles and prevent collisions.
  • Color Sensors: Enabling robots to recognize and react to different environmental cues.

Beyond the technical skills, the day was a great success in teamwork. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to solve problems alongside peers from other schools. It was a day filled with trial, error, and ultimate success—a true reflection of the spirit of computer science!
