Our Year 10 students recently dove headfirst into the Jack Petchey "Speak Out" Challenge.  They embraced the chance to sharpen their oracy and public speaking skills. It was a transformative experience that saw students build their confidence and deliver impactful speeches to their peers. The professional coaches, Justin Allder and Charlie Burt, were impressed and commented on the ambition and respect of our students. It was wonderful to see a diverse range of voices and topics shared, proving that when our students are given a platform, they have something truly meaningful to say.

"What happened is that a guy came in and starting talking about giving speeches and how we felt about giving a speech at the end of the day then after we fill in a sheet we did an active where we stood up and had to talk about where we live then after the person stood in front of us had to talk about their favourite food then after that when sat back down and started to talk about.

I think that the best bit was at the end when we had to say your speech and it was very interesting to see everyone view on different things the believe is important to them my other bit which I think that was quite good was when we had would you rather it was fun to have a debate with people in my year.

I think that I learnt how to talk to a crowd of people with more confidence, speak out loud in front of a group of people and good social skills that will hopefully help me in the future."
