Last week, an injury meant Mia couldn't join our practical cookie-making lesson. But instead of sitting it out, she became our official food critic and wrote a fantastic review of the class in action below.

Year 7 practical-cookies!

They've started off well gathering all the ingredients and equipment efficiently. The pupils are communicating really well, not playing with the dough and working hard together. Some students are not listening well about how much equipment they need as partners. The only chatter I am hearing is about the work needing to be done. "There are mistakes made which means more to learn." - by layla! It smells very delicious and people have already started putting it in the oven. Pupils making the dough amazingly and navigating the process properly. Groups of three working better together even though it's harder with more people. There is a lot of talking though. The smells are inviting. Nice to see people working together smiling and working hard, instead of talking about different things and losing attention. I see many people with many, many cookies that I can't wait to try! Smells so appetising all together, like the room is taking me to a special christmas eve! Beautiful teamwork. Really good work is going on and I'm really proud of my classmates. Now that they are finished they have started washing the equipment used, doing it in their own jobs. One washing the dishes and one drying and if there are three, one is also cleaning the side. I'm very proud of the teamwork in this room and the cookies are exquisite and are so scrumptious!
