What is COP27? What does COP27 mean?

COP27 is the annual UN climate conference taking place in 2022. A ‘COP’ means ‘conference of parties’.

COP27 attendees will include governments and negotiators from across the world who will travel to the meeting to discuss how to keep temperature rises below dangerous levels. This is crucial in order to prevent the climate crisis from causing even worse catastrophes for people living in the world's most vulnerable communities.

Green Jobs: Climate Kick Start, 2022

During Year 7-10 Geography lessons this week (Monday 14th-18th November), we were exploring the range of ‘green jobs’ to address the issue of climatic change.

In Geography lessons, students were provided with practical advice about what green jobs are, how they help to reduce damage to our planet and what GCSEs and future pathways will best prepare them for a ‘green career’. We hope that our students become more aware of the impact that their future work will have on the environment.

Students read and watched videos from a variety of different employers who are leading the way in reducing their impact on the environment. Read some of the quotes written by some of our students.
