Change to Uniform Policy

‘May your choices reflect your hopes not your fears’ Nelson Mandela

I am sure you will have read that there is great hope from the Education sector that we can all return to school in September. As we approach the end of this unique academic year I ask you to think about all of the great opportunities this will bring. We will continue to update you as and when we receive new information.

I am so impressed with the level of outstanding work we continue to receive from home and as always this edition of Pastorale is full of fantastic examples of Artwork and celebration.

However, the big story this week is a change to the uniform policy.

It is my pleasure to announce that after a successful student-led campaign we will be adding trousers, alongside skirts, as a uniform option for our female students from September.  The Student Voice group, led by Ms Whittle and Ms Collins, conducted petitions across all year groups and presented to a group of governors earlier this year. The support from students, both male and female, was overwhelming and the governors were exceptionally impressed with the way that Student Voice surveyed others, conducted research and presented their thoughts and findings.  A range of styles were tested for comfort and fit and a single style has been chosen. These will be available to purchase from Whitehall Clothiers. A letter with further details will be sent home this week. Congratulations to the students who brought about this important change. I am very proud of you all.
