Well done to Mr Lawrence, Ms Adade and their Year 7 Geographers who had a fantastic time planting 30 new copse tree saplings around the back of the Winlaton Playground. Whilst small, at only around 40-50cm tall these will grow. These students were selected because they won a Geography competition, or they have been attending the Geography Futures Club regularly. Well done to; Dana Alpiste, Luna Raphel, Tilly Booth Farmer, Chisom Nnadika, Stanley Jones, Chivaughn Thomas-Paul, Janette Kukhar, Fabio Bongioanni, Hector Taguiang, Elarni Linton, Tamia Ekpo-Daniels, Ebony McPhearson, Daniella Santos and Kirsty Diaz.
The UCL Taster Day yesterday went really well for Year 9 students and was extremely informative. Our students experienced a mini lecture and team building sessions that broadened their awareness of the different subjects taught not only and UCL but also other universities and a campus tour. Thanks to Mrs Baverstock.
Mr Ronan, Mr Collis, Mrs Quinn and I took 23 Year 11 students for an intense Maths and outward bound weekend. This is the second trip for this group of students and they got a lot out of it. I had the pleasure of joining the trip and everyone enjoyed it and worked hard, but were exhausted by Sunday evening!!
Well done to Nana Kankan who made an amazing cake that looked like a volcano. This was for his Geography homework project!!
