Digital Strategy

What is a Digital Strategy?

A plan for an evidence and research based approach to integrating digital technology into the school.

Why develop and invest in a digital strategy now?

  • Digital plans for schools have taken a new significance post COVID-19
  • The aim of a digital strategy is to save time and resources, while improving teaching and learning and the outcomes of pupils
  • Successfully integrate the use of Chromebooks within the school.

Intent of the Digital Strategy

Digital technology offers exciting ways for teachers to engage with students. The choices of applications and technologies seem endless. Adopting technology without a clear vision or adopting the wrong technology can be costly and discouraging.

Establishing digital literacy takes time. This in turn will create a strong digital practice that helps drive a digital culture in the school. With careful planning and monitoring this culture can transform student learning and progress while preparing them for employment in a digital world.

Chromebooks at Bonus Pastor Lenovo 300e Chromebook 2nd Gen 3

On entry in Year 7 at Bonus Pastor all students are provided with a Lenovo Chromebook. We want to ensure that all students have access to a device of their own whether at school or at home. We are now investing in training and development of all staff to ensure that they have the skills to develop and integrate outstanding lessons using Chromebooks.
