GCSE Music Students

GCSE Music at Wigmore House

Last week, four of our GCSE Music Students went to the Wigmore Hall in London courtesy of the new Chamber Zone scheme. They were treated to an excellent
evening of string quartets  by the Carducci Quartet who played works  by from Haydn, Beethoven and
Shostakovich.  The Wigmore Hall is noted as probably one of the most acoustically impressive concert venues in London and it was certainly a real feast for the ear. Students were able not only to experience a live concert, but were also able to pin-point key issues such as tonality, modulation and the various bowing techniques used by professional string players
