Future Leaders in Science: Our Year 9s Inspire Next Generation at Primary Science Day
Here at Bonus Pastor Catholic College, we are always incredibly proud of our students, but this week, our Year 9s truly went above and beyond. We are thrilled to share the fantastic success of our recent Ogden Trust Primary School Science Day, where our Year 9 students took centre stage as mentors and leaders. The primary schools involved were Our Lady & St Philip Neri, St William of York, Beecroft Garden and Rathfern.
Our Year 9s were tasked with guiding, encouraging, and mentoring the younger students through a variety of exciting activities, including:
- Water Rocket Launches: Engineering and launching rockets high into the sky.
- Giant Bubble Making: Exploring surface tension on a massive scale.
- The Science Show: Watching and assisting with thrilling live experiments that brought textbook science to life.
Our Year 9 students stepped up as role models. They ensured the primary children stayed safe, understood the science behind the fun, and, most importantly, had fun.
The visiting teachers were incredibly impressed by our students' maturity.
An event of this scale takes an immense amount of preparation, especially during this exceptionally busy term. We would like to extend a massive thank you to our incredible Science Teaching Team for giving up their time to supervise and support the day.
