Business Studies is an engaging subject relevant to the world of Business in the 21st century. It will equip learners with the skills and confidence to explore how different business situations affect business decisions. It is a well-rounded introduction to the subject and it will help learners make an informed decision about a range of learning opportunities and careers in the future, as well as developing skills that will enable them to become financially and commercially aware.

Business at KS3

Business is not offered at KS3 and is only available as an GCSE option at KS4.

Business Key Stage 4  

In Business, you will study a range of topics such as starting a business (entrepreneurship), marketing, finance, human resources and operations management. You will analyse a variety of case studies and business models to learn the skills that help businesses operate effectively. Within this course, students are required to exercise their essay writing ability and numerical skills to identify and analyse business innovation and enterprise. 

GCSE Business Overview

Enrichment and Extracurricular Activities

Young Enterprise is an extracurricular club that gives students the opportunity to set up and run their own businesses. It is a great way to learn about entrepreneurship, develop key life skills, and gain valuable work experience.

Young Enterprise is open to students of all ages and abilities. Students work in teams to come up with a business idea, develop a business plan, and launch their business. They are supported by a team of mentors from the local business community.

Students learn a wide range of skills through Young Enterprise, including:

  • Teamworking
  • Problem-solving
  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • Financial management
  • Marketing and sales
  • Project management

Young Enterprise is a great way to prepare for the future of work. The skills that students learn in the program are highly valued by employers. Young Enterprise also offers students the opportunity to network with business professionals and gain valuable work experience.
