When nothing is sure, everything is possible

It was Margaret Atwood who said ‘When nothing is sure, everything is possible’ and this certainly sums up how the students, families and staff at Bonus Pastor are responding to the current national crisis.

Whilst our return to school remains uncertain, our outlook on the importance of learning and growing as individuals never wavers. I have received so many wonderful messages from parents about the extra-curricular activities their children are taking part in on route to achieving their Charter or other qualifications. I have heard about the kind hearted charity work some of you are doing like baking cakes for elderly neighbours and reaching out to help your local community. We have sent a whole bag of letters from students to NHS workers to thank them for their work. Thank you to every student who took the time to do this I have already heard from Kings Hospital to say how much they appreciated your kind and encouraging words.

Online learning continues to impress us and I applaud your efforts and commitment to this. You will see examples of Art, Posters and an impressive record breaking House points table in this edition of Pastorale! It is tight at the top so keep doing your bit for your House team! These will all continue to count to the big annual prizes and cups!

I extend my message from my latest letter to say please do continue to get in touch with your queries or suggestions. The feedback is very much appreciated and we do listen and use this to consider any adaptations or improvements. You will see later on a poem written by a year 7 parent which I am sure will resonate with many of you.

As we enter the half term holiday my message to all students is to take care of yourselves, stay safe and be kind to everyone, including yourselves.

We hope to see you soon ~ Mr Ronan
